From virtuoso displays of traditional tango dance to the exquisite sounds of 1930’s Buenos Aires and the powerful Nuevo Tango music of Astor Piazzolla, Tangomotion is a breathtaking journey into the heart of Tango Argentino.
Tangomotion features two of the UK’s leading tango dancers, Giraldo Escobar and Alexandra Wood, with live music from Tango Siempre and the outstanding Argentinean singer Guillermo Rozenthuler.
Tango Siempre are the UK’s leading tango ensemble, described by the Sunday Times as “…an effortless fusion of Latin Passion and jazz virtuosity”.
The Tangomotion dancers have previously appeared in BBC Strictly Come Dancing, Tango Por Dos, the Channel 4 film Dance, Sally Potter’s Covent Garden production of Carmen and Madonna’s film Evita.

About The Dancers.
Giraldo and Alexandra studied with the greatest tango maestros in Buenos Aires and have performed extensively throughout Europe and Latin America.
They have previously performed with the Arte Latino Cultural Project, Danza Colombia! and Tango Por Dos. They created choreography for the Channel Four film Dance, appeared in Madonna's film Evita, Deborah Bull's BBC2 dance season programme Travels with my Tutu, and have appeared several times on BBC Strictly Come Dancing. During autumn 2007 and spring 2008 Giraldo performed in Sally Potter’s production of Carmen at Covent Garden.

Tango Siempre are Jonathan Taylor (piano), Ros Stephen (violin), Ian Watson (accordion) and Richard Pryce (double bass).
Tango Siempre's music is passionate, intense, soulful and unique. Their repertoire includes the intoxicating rhythms and melodies of 1930's Buenos Aires, the beautiful nuevo tango of Astor Piazzolla and powerful new works by members of the ensemble.
Tango Siempre have given over 1000 performances in the UK and Europe since their formation in 1998. They have also performed live for BBC Radio 3's 'In Tune'
Tango Siempre have collaborated with internationally renowned artists including the London Mozart Players, virtuoso bandoneonist Victor Villena (of Gotan Project), bandoneonist Paol Russo, saxophonist Gilad Atzmon, drummer/remixer Steve Arguelles, saxophonist Iain Ballamy, Arte Latino Cultural Project, Bedlam Dance and Diversions Dance.
